I bought it from Ebay for $400 bucks I got a rolling frame and a bucket of parts never the less it was a mess. When I got it home I hooked up the electrics that I found in the bucket-o-parts. After a few kicks she purred like a kitten, sitting on the frame I took it for a ride, making sure the motor and tranny was good and it was. Now what to do? First I figured I was going to get it powder coated ($100) ok but first I had to get it apart….OH YEAH!!!!
It came apart real easy until I got to the good ole pivot bolt that goes through the frame/ swing arm/ motor. After close inspection I see that the last owner tried as well with no luck, he ground one side flush leaving the bolt head side still intact. So how do you attack this problem? You have no room for any type of cutting wheel to cut in between the motor and swing arm with the shocks on. So I took off the shocks and tried EVERYTHING, heat, air hammers at 200psi. and even more heat. I decided to put the socket on the bolt head and trying to work it…SNAP!!!.
Now what choice to make? This thing won’t budge for nothing. Well after looking at it for a bit a see a simple way out, cut the bottom frame crossbar spread the frame apart just enough to slip out the swing arm (about 4’’) with the motor still attached, it worked but it’s still not over. I wrestled with it for a while trying to make the cut in between everything and my patients paid off. I dismantle the entire jackshaft assembly and get it out to the powder coater (after re-welding the frame). I got it back and was amazed how good it looked. Once I got it home I started reassembling it wire brushing every nut and bolt and painting as needed. I use and order every part (OEM) nothing was left untouched.
New parts ordered and or replaced: Any part used in the jackshaft seals (all new) New Pivot bolt and seals New OEM front fender New OEM brake cable New OEM throttle cable New OEM compression release New OEM clutch cable New OEM fork seals, oil New front Brakes New handlebars New grips New levers New front tire Good rear fender Good used fuel tank Good used side covers Good used exhaust system (no dings)

Here is on July 6 2007 ready and running
After cleaning the dust off of it the BW looked as good as it did 3+ years ago when I (almost) finished it. I mounted the new front tire, installed the new front brake shoes and adjusted everything and it was ready to run. Guess what after sitting for sometime that wasn't happening so fast. So took a take a few minutes to go through the carb and much to my brother amazement(and mine) it started and idled like new on the first kick! The pictures below are for Ebay when I list it.
